Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp sweetened with a bit of pure maple syrup and coconut sugar.  All the apple pie taste minus the fuss of messing with a crust.  Gluten free, dairy free, oat free, and vegan.

Apple ingredients

  • 5 cups apples, thinly sliced (about 5 apples)
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Topping ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 3/4 cup almond meal
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt


  1. Preheat your oven to 350.  While the oven is heating, slice up your apples.  You'll want to slice them up pretty thin to get them nice and soft. 

  2. Place your apples in a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl combine the maple syrup, lemon juice, cinnamon, & 1 tbsp. coconut oil.  Stir it on up and then pour over your apples.  Stir to get your apples coated nice and evenly.
  3. Place your apples in about a 3 qt. casserole dish, making sure they are spread out pretty even.  Bake apples for 20 min.

  4. While your apples are baking, you can get the topping together.  Place your pecans in a food processor and pulse until it's nice and chunky.  

  5. Add your pecans along with almond meal, vanilla, coconut oil, coconut sugar, and sea salt into large mixing bowl and stir to combine.  

  6. When your apples are done top them off with the pecan topping. Use a spoon to spread it out nice and evenly. Then bake for an additional 15 min. or so. Keep a careful eye out on your oven the last 5 min. since all ovens bake differently.
  7. When the topping is a nice golden brown remove from oven and allow to cool a few minutes. Enjoy on its own or topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
